This site is about myself and my dogs, and about close friends and their dogs... We revel in their closeness, and the friendship, and undying loyalty they provide us....

Charity
I came across this small truism years ago. I don't recall where and it doesn't really matter.. All dog people will see themselves here...
A bone to a dog is not charity. Charity is the bone shared with the dog when you are just as hungry as the dog.
For good or bad, I've always stopped at Mickey D's on the drive home from an upland hunt. The beagle first, and later the American water spaniel always enjoyed a hamburger. And they always got served first.
Gordie is a bit fussy, and won't eat the pickle. If I don't remove it first, I'll find it plastered to his belly fur when we get home.
He is such a cutie that I used to send him to buy our lunch. The MD girls would really take care of him. Now that I've turned 60, upon mutual agreement, I go in to get the Senior discount ;-)
Somehow Tucker ends up with what I'm eating. He loves a good burger, but will always eschew a piece of onion. More than charity on my part, I think its some kind of 'setter' mind manipulation on his part.
Michael--my Mom just showed me a cap she bought for my step father. It says, "don't forget my senior discount".
Our "Mission Statement"... if we have to have one...
Just the useless, and idle ramblings of a lifelong Field Setter lover. We may be right, we may be wrong, but, we're unshakable in our beliefs about, and our dedication to, our beloved Setters...
First and foremost, you need to join Google. Since this site is hosted by Google, only members can post.... It's easy to do, and best of all, it's free. Just go to the link and follow the instructions...
Include your name, e-mail address, and a little bit about yourself and your interest in the Gordon Setter, or gundogs in general... I'll send an invitation. Just follow the subsequent directions, and you'll be in!

Good post, Bill, as usual.
